Big Feelings in a Little Body
Welcoming A New Baby
In this book , young readers meet Ben, a boy learning to navigate the big emotions that come with a new sibling. At first, he isn’t thrilled—everyone seems focused on his baby sister, and Ben has big feelings in his little body. Eventually, Ben wants to spend time with his baby sister and learns to make room for both his feelings and his love.
Ben's Big Feelings in a Little Body
Feeling Mad, Without Feeling Bad
Ben’s Big Feelings in a Little Body is a thoughtful, illustrated children's book. It gives the message that it's okay to be mad without feeling bad. The term “grown-up” is used instead of “parent” to include a variety of family constellations and caregivers.
Validating and accepting big feelings without judgment allows children to move through their feelings without feeling shame or bad about themselves.
The Magic Pee and Other Surprises
Toilet Training Without Shaming
The Magic Pee and Other Surprises is a fun children’s book for toilet training/learning without shaming, and is both gender neutral and inclusive. The term “grown-up” is used instead of “parent” to include a variety of family constellations and caregivers.
As a childcare professional, Ms. Hart didn’t like the traditional way toileting was explained using the word “accident” and came up with the terms “surprise” and “magic pee” instead.
The story is humorous and sensitive to a child learning a new skill.
